Accreditation

Accreditation is a process of review and appraisal that schools undertake to validate their quality of education, verify that they are striving for excellence and ensure that they are managed with a high standard of governance and leadership.

Eastern Hills Christian Academy is accredited by ACSI and AdvancEd.

ACSI:  “The Association of Christian Schools International exists to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators worldwide as they prepare students academically and inspire them to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ”*  ACSI provides a highly regarded accreditation program for secondary, elementary and preschools and has partnerships with all the U.S. regional accreditation agencies.

ACSI promotes Christian education and provides training and resources to Christian schools and Christian educators, resulting in “schools that contribute to the public good through effective teaching and learning and that are biblically sound, academically rigorous, socially engaged, and culturally relevant; and educators who embody a biblical worldview, engage in transformational teaching and discipling, and embrace personal and professional growth.”

EHCA is the largest of only 5 schools in Albuquerque accredited by ACSI.

AdvancEd:  AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world and has more than a hundred years of work in school accreditation. AdvancEd is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of PreK-12 schools.  AdvancED was created through a 2006 merger of the PreK-12 divisions of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI)—and expanded through the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2011.

AdvanceEd Standards for Quality require that each school be reviewed in a way that is appropriate to its mission and purpose.  These Standards are research-based, comprehensive quality statements that describe conditions and factors that contribute to a quality educational experience and operational effectiveness.  Factors that are reviewed include:

  • Stable governance, management and leadership
  • A coherent course of study
  • A reliable system by which to assess students’ progress
  • Instructors who have a clear understanding of what they aim to teach, how, and why
  • Access to the resources they need**

Additionally, EHCA's preschool program is CYFD 5-Star rated.
